To pack or not to pack - That is the Question ?

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

To pack your bag for your liveaboard adventure in any of our fantastic destinations, you don’t want to overdo it! Dive gear is heavy enough, so try to limit everything else.

Dive gear

You can contact your liveaboard and consider renting if you want to pack light.

BCD

Regulator

Wetsuit (find out about water temperature, no one likes to be too hot or too cold on a dive)

Mask and snorkel

Fins (with booties if you wear open heel)

Dive computer

Dive torch

Camera (optional of course)

Gloves (if you are going somewhere very cold)

Clothes

You don’t need much at all; you will be in your bathing suit all day. All you’ll need are some t-shirts and shorts for when you leave the boat on an excursion and when you have food. As a woman, I love sarongs as they make great towels, shirts, scarves, dresses and skirts. If you bring two, you have one to wear and one to dry, and the same goes for your bathing suit/shorts/bikini — a hat and sunglasses against the sun.

For in the plane you need one set of clothes, you can wear the same both ways. Bring a jumper and socks, as aeroplanes always get cold.

Shoes

You basically can go barefoot the whole time you are on board, but a pair of flip-flops is recommended. If there are any hiking excursions you may want to bring sneakers, wear them on the plane too.

Meds

The liveaboard will have a medical first aid kit on board but take your own prescribed meds. You may want to bring your preferred medication or patches if you suffer from motion sickness.

Feminine products

Moon cup, ladies! Very small, reusable and you have no trash from it all.

Toiletries

Some boats provide biodegradable soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Sunscreen

Bring plenty, but try to find some reef-safe sun lotion. Regular sunscreen kills the reefs.

Electronics

Now, this is a tough one as it depends on you. If you are a photographer, you will have a lot of electronics. Otherwise think laptop, phone, e-reader, headphones, and battery charger. Bring a converter or adaptor.

Other things to bring

Copy of your insurance

Logbook

Certification Cards
